INTEGRATION GROUPS
Integration Groups (I-Groups) are circles of men that meet on a regular basis to provide peer-support in a healthy and safe environment. The groups are facilitated by experienced men who follow a set of protocols and processes that have been developed, tested and reviewed over the 30 years the ManKind project has operated.
What I-Groups offer?
A welcoming environment in which all men are invited to a greater understanding of themselves through listening and speaking their truths.
Participation in a physically, emotionally and psychologically safe circle of men with clear guidelines setting out acceptable behaviours.
Practice deepening self- awareness to allow for personal healing and transformation.
Opportunity to support and challenge each other.
Safely explore new ways of being.
Practice accountability, integrity, authenticity and emotional literacy.
Limitation of I-Groups
I-Groups are not group therapy and do not constitute professional mental health care; it is vitally important that men do not forego or suspend treatment in order to participate in I-Groups.
I-Groups are great if…
You are a change agent, a man working with others for the good of society – the skills you can learn here are essential to your efforts to create sustainable solutions in the world. Learn the kind of connection that allows groups to overcome personal and psychological blocks and resolve interpersonal conflicts in a way that is energizing rather than draining.
You are outwardly successful and looking to become more balanced in other parts of your life – this is a place to come and explore, refine and express the other parts of yourself that may be hiding out in the shadows.
You have never felt safe or at ease in a group of men, if you have wondered ‘What does it mean to be a man?’ or ‘How do I become a better man?’ – this is a place to find answers. Your success depends on your efforts.
You struggle with commitment, with discipline, with emotional honesty, with feelings of powerlessness or inadequacy, with anger, frustration, depression – this is a kind of bonding that will help you break old patterns and find YOUR PLACE in a community.
