Seniors can take two college visit days, and juniors can take one. To miss a school day for a visit, you must a complete a form ahead of time. You will find the form in the main office.
Juniors and seniors can also take advantage of visits to our school. Representatives from the following institutions will come to CAM during the 2024-2025 school year:
Eastern Illinois University September 6 (seventh hour)
Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing September 23 (seventh hour)
McKendree University October 10 (fifth hour)
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign October 16 (third hour)
University of Illinois Springfield October 23 (sixth hour)
If you want to attend any of these meetings, you must sign up with Mrs. Taylor at least two days beforehand.
The following guidelines will help seniors complete all the steps in the college application process.
Know college application deadlines well in advance, and submit early.
Request your transcript from Mrs. Taylor.
Go to each college's admissions page to find the online application.
Complete the application online, and proofread it before submitting.
ACT and SAT test scores do not appear on transcripts, but many colleges have transitioned to a test-optional process. Check to see each college's policy. If you want a college to factor your scores into their review or if the college requires it, send your ACT scores (www.actstudent.org) and/or SAT scores (www.collegeboard.com) to each institution. Colleges must receive your scores by their unique deadlines in order to consider your file complete.
Visit Mrs. Taylor's office or email her (etaylor@camraiders.com) with any questions.
Many benefits to attending a community college exist. In comparison to four-year universities, community colleges cost less, usually offer more scheduling flexibility, allow for a smoother transition to the college atmosphere, and enable students to complete their general education requirements before moving to a university.
