Good to know before you start:
The volunteer process usually takes about a week from start to finish. It includes several steps, including filling out an online application and completing online training.
To complete the application, you will need a government-issued ID to upload into the system (i.e. driver’s license, DMV-issued ID).
Once approved, your application is valid for three years.

Approved Volunteers should:
Ring the bell to be let into the entrance vestibule. Visitors cannot enter through the main doors during school hours.
Sign in to the Visitor Management System through the computer in the vestibule using your driver’s license and get a visitor badge.
o If it is your first time signing in, scan your driver’s license at the computer in the vestibule and get your picture taken.
o Once you have checked in, let the front office know where you are headed.
Wear your volunteer nametag at all times while on school property.
Sign out upon leaving the school.
How to apply:
1. Complete the volunteer application form at the link below (takes approximately five minutes).

2. Receive the Safe Schools training link from APS via email (subject line may say “Your Vector Training Plan”; you should receive the email within 48 hours).
3. Log in with the included password and complete the online “Sexual Misconduct” training (takes approximately 40 minutes). Once completed, you will receive an email confirmation receipt of your application from Raptor System, which APS uses for background checks.
4. Expect to receive email approval of your application within a few days.
5. If you have not received the results of your application within a week, email Alicia Zekan at APS alicia.zekan@apsva.us.
