The overall atmosphere follows classic horror conventions, with dark, foggy, and deserted environments, explored using a flashlight.
Enemy placement and mimic abilities are designed to keep the player on edge, especially during exploration. Intentionally out-of-place or absurd elements break the tension at times.
Additionally, the setting includes a distorted version of the Italian countryside and small towns, blending familiar rural architecture with uncanny and alien details to heighten the unease.
Italian-language voice lines and certain environment elements inspired by Italian culture further break the tension in surreal or humorous ways.
