Academics and Enrichment Program

  • The Summer Program is mandatory to all incoming students to Katz Dalsey Academy Charter School
  • The Summer Program is mandatory to enrolled students that qualify due to grades in Math, Language Arts, Reading levels, MAP scores (3rd and 4th grades only) and attendance.
  • The Summer Program is optional to those students that would like to strengthen their basic skills and participate of the enrichment program. (limited space)

Social and Academic Objectives for Students

Transition young children into a demanding instructional program and build stamina on what a kindergarten program entails in September.

  • Students will gain knowledge of the school rules and classroom routine.
  • Students will gain knowledge of school discipline policy, and learn appropriate conduct.
  • Students will build school vocabulary.
  • Students will acquire social skills necessary to be part of the school community.

Academic Objectives for Students

Bridge the academic summer gap

  • Student will work on their personal goals for Language Arts and Math during the afternoon session.
  • Teachers will provide students with a tailored curriculum based on the students MAP scores and growth from Fall to Spring.
  • Students will continue to be exposed to school discipline policy, rules and classroom routines.
  • Students will form new friendships within their grade and the school community.

FAMILY - SCHOOL CONNECTIONS

  • Summer Program provides an optimal opportunity for higher levels of family-school connections. Those opportunities can be gained through phone calls, drop off and pick up meet and greet, behavior sheets.
  • Parents can start the immersion on the school culture and learn all the necessary daily school routines, procedures, and the school discipline policy.
