Hello, I am Katie Colón and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher! This is my fourth year teaching at Sartorette and I love teaching our Sartorette Superstars. This year is a year to celebrate as I mark 20 years in education. Over the course of my career, I've taught Kindergarten, first, third, fourth, and fifth grades, and I cherished the educational experiences that are unique to each grade.
This year I am pleased to welcome Ms. O to our classroom. She is a Resident Teacher, earning her teaching credential with the Santa Clara County Office of Education. You can read more about her below!

Hi, I’m Analiese Orlando, and I’m so excited to be working alongside Mrs. Colon this year! If you have a middle schooler, you may recognize me from Price Middle School, where I worked as the secretary last year. This year, I’m thrilled to take the next step in my journey as I complete my teaching credential through the Santa Clara County Office of Education Residency Program. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and growth with our students!

As a Bay Area native, I am so glad to be teaching close to where I grew up. I started teaching in 2005, and being in the classroom, teaching children is truly my happy place!
Contrary to popular belief, teachers don't live in their classrooms, so I do go home each day and on the weekends. :) Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three children, and our dog, Rocket.
I firmly believe that each and every day is a great opportunity to learn something new, and that "something new" can look different for each student. I love cultivating those learning experiences and I make sure that I include the concepts of failure and a growth mindset into those experiences. Everyone makes mistakes, and it is from those that we learn and hone our expertise.
The Arts have always been a big part of my life that I like to bring into my classroom to share with my students. I like paper crafting, painting, photography, and music. I am also a musician, having played the clarinet since I was in elementary school. Being a musician taught me valuable life lessons, especially the lessons of navigating failure and developing perseverance. My involvement with music took me on journeys around the world that I will never forget. Currently, I play in a community band, the Morgan Hill Wind Symphony.
I endeavor to live life to its fullest and my favorite time is when I can make memories with my husband and our three children. We love playing games, watching movies, reading stories, attending church activities, visiting extended family, and getting outdoors.
Being out in nature is an extraordinary experience, so I love taking students outdoors to visit the school garden or even just to observe budding blooms on the trees outside our classroom.
Meet Rocket Milo Colón!
We adopted Rocket in August 2020 after he was found on a farm and in need of a family to take care of him. We love having him as part of our family. A bundle of energy, he runs around the house and bolts across the yard like a rocket! He loves following us around the house, cuddling up on the couch, and going for walks.
I grew up right here in San Jose and earned my bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University. I began my career working at a preschool for three years before exploring the corporate world. Eventually, my passion for education brought me back to schools, and I spent the last year and a half as a secretary at Price Middle School.
Outside of work, I love attending hockey and football games, going to concerts, spending time outdoors, and baking. I'm excited for the year ahead and look forward to learning and growing alongside Mrs. Katie Colon!
I come from a big, loud, and loving Italian family, and I cherish spending time with my sisters, mom, brother-in-law, and partner. In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, attending sports events, baking, and taking walks with my pups. Whether I’m in the classroom or at home, I try to focus on connection and finding happiness in the little things.
I share my home with the two most spirited pups out there! Kiro (the brown dog) is 6 years old, and Sadie (the black and brown dog) joined our family about a year and a half ago. They have the classic sibling relationship best friends one minute: playfully annoyed with each other the next. They are the best part of coming home.
