ASD stands for Academic Skills Development and is a support class that is designed to provide a scaffold to your student’s math class. We will review foundational math skills, cover topics studied in the regular math class, and preview upcoming concepts. My goal is to make the students more confident and competent with their math.
This is a math support class that will provide students with another opportunity to learn the foundation standards in a smaller class setting, using different teaching strategies. Students will work in teams, pairs, and individually through math projects and puzzles to develop problem solving skills and strengthen math concepts. This is also time in which they can get help on their homework (block day). In past years, students in these classes have shown gains in their benchmark scores and more confidence in their math class.
*This course in taken in addition to their required math course.
