Middle School Exploratory

Middle School Exploratory takes the middle school student through activities in internet safety and digital citizenship including cyber-bullying and how the student handbook handles it.  We learn about Google docs, sheets, sites, drawing, forms as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.  A Coding unit is also explored. 

6th graders are learning about Foundational Principles like Sound Judgement and Win-Win focus as they build a tower together using each others skills. They are learning about collaboration and getting along within a team while they construct their final project. 

8th graders begin Introduction to Business during their Exploratory in 2021. Students will create their own Business Plan, Elevator speech, business cards, letterhead, webpage, and use Microsoft and Google tools to build and manage their "business".   Students will also learn about internet safety, and networking concepts we use here at school. 

2019: 7th graders are learning Excel through skittles.  

Our Virtual Reality unit (VR) focused on apps that explore Australia!

Keyboarding is stressed and we have timed writings with a goal of the grade level x 5 for a speed with 85% accuracy.  Efficient keyboarding is a skill useful in high school in every class.
