HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS
Homework is not assigned, unless a student does not finish work in class.
ABSENCES
- It is your responsibility to get assignments before school (8:45) the first day you return from being absent.
- Please check in immediately with all of your teachers for missed assignments. If you have questions, ask your teachers.
- If you are sick for an extended period of time, parents or students can call the school and request that the work be sent home.
Grading
- 90% of the grade comes from evidence of learning. Evidence of learning can be an assessment, individual project, paper, etc...
- 10% of the grade comes from practice. Practice assignments are anything from daily work to group projects.
- The goal is for the grade book to reflect student learning. Evidence of learning assignments can always be retaken
Assessment Retakes
You may re-take assessments/projects/essays etc. The opportunity to retake assessments helps students refine learning and continue making progress. It also holds students accountable for their learning. Students are required to fill out a re-take form which teachers will have available in the classroom. Retakes are always at the discretion of the teacher.
MATERIALS
- You will learn what materials are needed for each of your classes each day.
- Please refer to the supply list to make sure you have the materials you need for each content area.
- You may need to replenish supplies throughout the year.
- You may also bring a healthy snack. This might include fresh fruit, vegetables, protein, water. Chips, juice, pop, candy, and messy snacks will not be permitted. If the snack becomes a distraction or causes a mess, then it will be expected that you put it away for lunch or an after school snack.
- Please bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated throughout the day! Water bottles can be refilled at the water refill station in the cafeteria.
