We will always support your child's bathroom needs in a loving and caring way. We know it can be a very intimidating part of a child's day. If you have questions or concerns, always feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.
Please send your child in a clean, dry diaper/pull up for school, if needed. We will only change diapers if there is a bowel movement. We do not change wet diapers.
Please make sure there is always a supply of diapers for your child. We can store diapers in their individual cubby at school. We will let you know when the supply is getting low.
We will gladly help your child with their potty training needs. We offer many potty break reminders throughout the day, and will help guide them through the process so they can continue to train even while at school! Please let us know if your child is actively potty training so we can talk with you about how we can best support them.
Your child must be able to use the bathroom independently
-Recognize when they need to go potty (lots of reminders are given during the day, and the "potty dance" is usually recognized!)
-Take themselves into the bathroom
-Pull down pants and get on the toilet independently
-Wipe bottom if necessary
-Pull pants back up
-Wash hands
-Remove wet clothing
-Wipe self off with provided wipes
-Put dry clothes back on
(3 year olds will be verbally guided through all steps, with minimal help from teachers)
-Children will often use the bathroom multiple times during a school day
-Needing constant assistance in the bathroom takes a teacher out of the classroom for an extended period of time
