Family Life & Sexual Health

Washington State Legislature mandated that a program of prevention education be presented yearly to students beginning in the fifth grade. The Camas School District has adopted appropriate materials for Family Life and Sexual Health. The curriculum we use complies with the state standards, which states that curriculum must “include both abstinence and other contraceptive information” (ESSB 5297). Please read the parent letter for more information on the content that will be presented during this health unit.

**Parents who wish to have their child OPT OUT from the F.L.A.S.H curriculum MUST review the materials and sign a release form. Release forms will be available in the Skyridge main office.

Due to Covid safety protocols, we are unable to invite parents into the school to review the curriculum materials. However, we have included a basic outline of the goals of our curriculum, a link to view the videos through Safari Montage, and a link for the reference material from Seattle & King County (above).
