My name is Gloria Prate and I will be your daughter’s Praise and Worship Dance Instructor at Calvary Christian Academy for the 2018-2019 school year. I am thankful for this opportunity and feel blessed that God has allowed me this privilege. It is truly an answer to PRAYER!

I began teaching at CCA as a Kindergarten Teacher when the school was established. During that time, God allowed me to incorporate dance with the Kindergarten students within various music programs and outreaches.

Although I loved teaching Kindergarten , I always had a passion to teach Worship Dance. When the CPAC and Dance Studio were being built, Dr. Pennington asked me if I'd like to teach Worship Dance here at CCA!!!. This was truly an answer to PRAYER.

I’ve studied dance since I was 4 years old with various teachers, including Valerie Henry, a pioneer in the field of Christian Dance Worldwide. I currently dance with a Women's Ministry Dance Group called "First Love" at prisons, nursing homes, churches, retreats, etc.

The performing arts have a reputation of being self-focused and competitive and as a result breed jealousy, arrogance and insecurity. When we surrender our creative gifts to God’s purposes, He can work through them.

I am hoping to encourage the dancers to purposely set their minds and hearts on worship as they are dancing.

I am looking forward to dancing for JESUS with your daughter. Please join me in prayer that God will be a part of all that we do.
