A&S ACTIVITIES

We have so much A&S for you at St. George this year!

First, we’re holding an Open A&S Display. You can bring up to three items representing three different arts or sciences, any subject and any medium. We welcome items made at any point in your SCA journey, including those that have been previously entered in competitions. Whether it’s a masterpiece that’s been languishing in a closet, your current work in progress, or your first attempt, we want to see it! And we want to see what our youth have been working on, too! Documentation is not necessary, but you should at least indicate what it is, the time period and culture, and who made it. There will be prizes for the populace favorites. You can set up your display starting at 9:00am. Please remove your items by 4:00pm.

Those from the Shire of Oakheart can enter our judged competition to determine the Oakheart A&S Champion. Documentation is highly encouraged for championship entries. You may enter an item that you have previously entered in another competition, and your entry can also be part of the Populace Choice display. You can set up your display starting at 9:00am. Please remove all items by 4:00pm.

And finally, we’re holding a Hero’s Journey Bardic Competition. Bring an original piece about a hero’s journey—story, song, poem, or whatever else you dream up—and be ready to perform during feast. The winner will receive a beautiful St. George and The Dragon art print donated by Cassandra di Borghi. Please keep your bardic performance under seven minutes in length.
