Supervised Study
Supervised Study
All students have Supervised Study sessions on their timetable. These sessions are compulsory and must be used productively e.g. to complete class assignments, independent study/reading/pre-reading, completing NEA/assignment work.
Students who consistently demonstrate a determined and rigourous approach to their studies will be given more freedom and flexibilit. This will be informed by student progress and teacher feedback.
Library
All students will be directed to work in the College library for all or some of their timetabled Supervised Study sessions. The library is a silent academic study space.
All students must sign in with Mrs Olver at the start of their Supervised Study.
Sixth Form Study Centre
During lesson time the Sixth Form Study Centre should be used as a quiet study zone. You are permitted to use this space for working groups or to complete group tasks.
Students are not permitted to use the Sixth Form Study Centre for social purposes during lesson time.
All students must sign in with Mrs Rice at the start of the Supervised study.
Studying for A Levels/Level 3 BTEC courses is very demanding on your time, and the time is very short - your attendance is central to your success.
Independent Study
All students are expected to be determined in their learning and committed to excellence. As such, students should make productive use of their time in College. During non-timetabled lessons, it is strongly advised that this time is used for additional independent study.
Study Approaches
Academic Mentoring
You may be asked to take part in an academic mentoring programme during your time at CCC Sixth Form. This is designed to develop your study skills and support your progress. If you feel that you would benefit from academic mentoring, please see Tammy or Mrs Inger.
