I am in my second year as Director of the California Pinto Pride Bands. This is my 11th year in education, previously teaching in Pilot Grove, Columbia, Crest Ridge, and Liberty; and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the University of Missouri Bands. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Central Missouri State University (now UCM), a Masters Degree in Music from the University of Missouri, and have hours towards a Masters Degree in School Administration. At California High School I direct the Pinto Pride Bands (Marching, Concert, Pep), Drumline, Jazz Band, and teach Music Appreciation. At the Middle School I direct the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands.
My wife, Melissa, is a teacher at California Middle School and we have a daughter (Harper) and a dog (Peanut.) I am primarily a clarinet and bass clarinet player and have regularly played in the Columbia Civic Orchestra and other ensembles in Mid-Missouri as needed, I am a MSHSAA Adjudicator and enjoy golfing (when I have time.)
