MIT Summer research program in biology and neuroscience - Due January 30, 2026 11:59 p.m -
Full-time undergraduate students at a U.S. university or college
Current sophomores, juniors, or non-graduating seniors
Successfully completed introductory courses in the life sciences
Minimum GPA of 3.5 in all STEM courses
Must have prior research experience
Demonstrated interest in basic research and in a career in the sciences
Must provide all transcripts
Available to begin the first day of program, no exceptions

The Rockefeller University - Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program - Due Feb, 1, 2026
The Rockefeller University’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program is designed to provide qualified, highly motivated college students majoring in the life or physical sciences, an opportunity to experience laboratory research. Each year, outstanding college sophomores and juniors are chosen from a large pool of applicants. SURF students are matched according to their stated field of interest with faculty, postdoctoral researchers or graduate students. SURF students work with leading scientists in a broad range of areas including biochemistry; structural biology and chemistry; molecular, cell and developmental biology; immunology; virology and microbiology; neuroscience; physics; and mathematical biology. The 18 students accepted into the SURF program will receive a stipend of $4,000.00 for the 10-week period of June 1 through August 7. Free housing will be provided for students who cannot commute.

Be a documented U.S. citizen or non-citizen national, or permanent resident in possession of an alien registration receipt card (I-551) or another legal document of such status at the time of application. Undergraduates will have the opportunity to: Engage in basic, clinical, or population based cancer research for 9-10 weeks during two consecutive summers. (2025 and 2026) Receive professional development and training in Topics of Cancer Biology, Laboratory Skills, and Career Development. Present their research findings at an Annual Research Symposium. Receive compensation for their time and conservative funds towards temporary housing and parking.

The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) are a paid internship opportunity sponsored and managed by the DOE Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) in collaboration with DOE laboratories/facilities. Students can participate in SULI in a semester-long experience (August–December).
Each year, students from around the country participate in SULI at one of the 17 participating DOE laboratories/facilities.
Office hours: 2-3 pm EST, December 10th and 17th. You must register in order to attend.
