Bloomberg Certification
The Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) camp is an interactive introduction to financial
markets and the economy, with hands-on learning on Bloomberg Terminals.
The BMC certification component consists of 10 to 15 hours of self-paced e-learning in
the Caldwell University Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, offered in conjunction with
instruction on foundational economics and finance topics.
BMC is a practical way of introducing students to financial markets, covering over 35
learning outcomes. Students will have terminal activities with over 100 Bloomberg
terminal functions, to increase proficiency with Bloomberg terminal usage.
The certification is recognized in the finance industry as the leading indicator of
proficiency for careers in finance.
Financial Wellness
Students will be encouraged to focus on the meaning of the material they are learning (e.g., by
relating it to other information, recognizing consequences, or coming up with examples), to self-
test on the material (e.g., teaching it to someone else) and applying their knowledge in personal
means (e.g., investments, building and maintaining credit score etc.). Students will understand
how financial concepts, decisions, and opportunities apply across different areas of life (e.g.,
student, family, work), having an aggregate effect on their financial wellness and spilling over to
their families.
