Hi! I'm Ms. Bachus!

I am a proud Calamus Wheatland alumni (graduated class of 2012!) and I went on to get my bachelors of Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Studies at Iowa State University. Go Cyclones! I taught for one year at Northwood-Kensett and Lake Mills before making the choice to move home and become the FCS teacher and FCCLA advisor in my own school. I absolutely love being able to make a difference in the community that raised me!

I grew up on a farm right outside of Wheatland, where we raised sheep, cattle, crops and of course a whole bunch of pets! Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are scrapbook, take my dog for walks, garden, spend time with family and friend, and of course cook!

I am the proud aunt of many adorable littles ones, and I am always excited to share pictures of cute babies and pets!

I choose to become a FCS teacher because I believe the best way to change the world for the better is to build people up. And they say that food is a language that everyone can speak, which is what makes my job so awesome! I get to spend my days laughing and learning to cook and share good food with great students!

I have a passion for rural communities. I believe Calamus-Wheatland school district and other ones just like it are some of the best places on earth, because the people here, are some of the best people on earth, and it is my true pleasure to work with you!
