Informatics is an interdisciplinary field that manages and analyzes information, particularly within a specific context like healthcare delivery. Combining elements of computer science and information science to address challenges, informatics has evolved significantly over time, driven by technology and government regulations. I chose the health pathway as my focus area in the MS Informatics program as my interests primarily lie in public health, policy, and healthcare delivery.
In my e-portfolio, I have curated a selection of work completed during my informatics courses, organized according to the six core competencies. Each competency contains an introduction along with statements outlining the skills and knowledge demonstrated by the presented evidence. As I began compiling my e-portfolio, I carefully reviewed my work to determine the most suitable evidence to include. Given the interdisciplinary nature of informatics, many of the projects and assignments applied to multiple competencies, showcasing my adaptability and versatility. After assembling the evidence, I focused on creating a cohesive website that reflects a consistent style and ensures usability. While developing the introductions and conclusions for each competency, I sometimes revised my chosen evidence to best align with each competency.
