Google Meet Grid View gives you some options to maximize your classes and meetings, such as:
Only show people with video on the grid
Highlighting the speaker (very beneficial in large meetings)
Including/removing yourself from the grid
“Pinning” one person so their screen is larger, but still including everyone in the grid
MEET ATTENDANCE Is an easy tool that solves the extra steps needed to see who did and did not attend your classes. You can take attendance at any time during your meet by viewing the people who are present. The list of attendees will be automatically uploaded in your Google Drive with a date and timestamp.
Nod allows students to use emoji’s and a hand raise tool to help express themselves and their understanding. There are a few emoji’s included, with a plan to add more in the future.
By using this extension, students and teachers can unmute their mics easily, say what they have to say, and mute their mics again instantaneously.
If a student can’t have audio on, are using a malfunctioning device, or is hearing impaired. This feature allows everyone to follow along with a lesson, creating another channel for learning styles.
Web Paint allows the teacher to use many of the drawing tools available on a smartboard. When the extension is enabled, teachers can draw all over whatever is being shared on their screen to help reinforce learning.
When Google Meet Enhancement Suite is available, this one extension can allow the user to:
Enable grid view
Push to talk
Auto-join meetings
Quick leave
Custom defaults (camera and mic automatically off when joining a call)
Enabled captions
Use Dualless to split your screen into two windows so that you can screen share AND monitor your class at the same time.
If you wan to share your screen and keep track of the Meet chat and video windows you need to organize your tabs into two windows – one that contains the websites you want to share and another that lets you view the Google Meet.
This Google Chrome extension brings the whiteboard functionality to Google Meet on each of the participants’ screen with the extension installed. Once enabled, users will see a Whiteboard button on the calling screen that will open a whiteboard that’s overlaid on the screen. You can then draw, type, or calculate to show it to other users, although others won’t be able to interact on the same board.
Breakout Rooms allow hosts of meetings to split the primary meeting group into multiple subgroups.
The extension lets you move seamlessly between rooms and view them in tiled or tab format, add participants to different rooms, close rooms, mute all, or remove all participants.
Google Meet Call Timer adds a timer to your meeting screen so that you can check the remaining time that’s left for a meeting session to end. The timer when enabled shows up at the top right corner of the screen where the Participants tab, clock, and chat tabs reside.
If the team just completed a long-term target it’s time to celebrate but you’re restricted to the confinements of your room. This extension will add a button in your Google Meet screen where you can send party poppers as a means to celebrate during an event or on someone’s birthday.
