EC Monthly Parent Newsletter

From The Principal's Desk

Dear EC Parents:

Tomorrow will have the EC Book Character Assembly and each class will sing a special song and do a terrific job wearing their special book costumes! There is so much to celebrate in all areas of our students centered curriculum. Our Pre Kinder students are meeting the grade level expectation and learning new things every day. The Kinder children are in the pre-reading/writing process with a ‘growth mind” set. And, our First Graders are move up levels in both in Reading/Writing along with working with important math concepts.

We truly appreciate the fact that you support your child in the Daily Home Connection (DHC)assignment each night. It’s clearly important that you are sending the message that hard work and dedication pays off throughout life.

We are looking forward to the EC Annual Thanksgiving Celebration that will be on Wednesday, November 21st. Each year the EC parents make this a truly amazing and meaningful event. The EC students will sing a medley of Thanksgiving songs in Spanish and English before the Feast!

Please contact me if you have any ideas or suggestion on how to enhance the EC educational program for your child. And, please do consider participating in the Angel Tree Project!

Warm regards,

Connie Turner

Early Childhood Principal

Reminder Book Character Assembly

Wednesday October 31, 2018

Every year, the Early Childhood section has a Book Character Assembly where your child selects their favorite book character and comes to school dressed as that wonderful book character. And, we all celebrate our books in the Auditorium at the EC Book Character Assembly with each class performing a special song. Also, your child will need to bring their school uniform to change into after the EC Assembly. Let's celebrate books!

Angel Tree Packing Event - November 9th

Dear EC Angel Tree Parents:

I want to thank the 98 individuals and families who are currently supporting the Safe Passage/Angel Tree project. The Angel Tree Packing party will be on Friday, November 9th. You will have the opportunity to pack the school supplies for your “Angel” and also help your child make a card and put some fun gifts into the supply bag.

Here are the times:

· Pre Kinder: 7:30 – 8:30

· Kinder: 8:45 – 9:45

· Grade 1: 10:00 – 11:00

Do be on time since your child will be waiting for you. Again, we appreciate your family being a part of the Angel Tree Project. If you have children in different grade levels, you may pack up the school supplies at one of the above times.

Again, we have only 98 Angels…as of today! So, miracles can and do happen so I am sure that we will make the goal of 300 ANGELS!

Thanks so much.

Thanksgiving Feast

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Our Annual Thanksgiving Feast will be on Wednesday, November 21st in the main plaza. All EC students will be part of making the food for this special feast in their classroom beforehand. The students will prepare a short presentation on what they feel grateful for in their lives and they have prepared some songs about being thankful! This is such a wonderful day and the APM parents put so much time and effort into making this a most memorable event.
