Benefits of PBIS:
INCREASES SAFETY:
Teaching positive behaviors and preventing undesired behaviors keeps conflict and violence to a minimum.
2. IDENTIFIES STUDENTS WHO NEED MORE HELP:
Students with more significant behavior problems can get the support needed to succeed.
3. HELPS ALL STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY:
Reducing problem behavior means less time taken from teaching and learning.
School becomes a more positive place to be.
According to studies, students in a healthy, safe environment make more improvements in
their academics and score higher on assessments.
Involvement
Contact our school to get involved with the PBIS Team. We welcome parental input and feedback.
PBIS at Home
Go through each of the school’s behavior expectations with your child. Talk about how acting safe, respectful, and responsible would look like in your home setting, too.
Active Role
Take the time to…
Reinforce the importance of safety, respect, and responsibility in positive ways.
Read to or read with your child daily. Ask them questions. Encourage independent reading in older students.
Have a routine for completing homework. Set up a quiet space and regular time for them to work.
Stay in contact with your child’s teacher(s). Ongoing, honest, and open communication is a very important support for both academic and behavioral progress.
Feel free to reach out anytime with any questions/concerns. There are many people and resources that are here to help give all students access and support to be the best learners they can be!
