Your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the school year in which they’d like to attend 4K. This age cutoff is set by Wisconsin DPI for all public 4K programs. Wisconsin DPI
Yes — to attend 4K in Cadott (or most Wisconsin public school districts), your family must live within the Cadott Community School District boundaries.
If you do not live in the district, you may apply through Wisconsin Open Enrollment to request permission to attend Cadott’s 4K program (subject to space and district approval). Wisconsin DPI
We do offer transportation to and from 4K via our normal bus routes. For more information about our busing, contact Kobussen at 715-861-1191.
4K is a full-day program that runs Tuesday through Friday and follows the Cadott School District calendar each year.
For families who need additional care, Hornet Care is available on Mondays as well as before and after school on 4K days, for a fee.
Children with special needs are welcome in our 4K program. If your child is currently receiving Birth-to-3 services, your existing team will help support a smooth transition into 4K.
Prior to the start of 4K, the Cadott School District hosts a Childhood Development Day, typically held in the spring. During this event, our staff complete developmental screenings and partner with families to discuss any concerns, answer questions, and ensure that appropriate supports, accommodations, or therapies are in place as needed.
Our goal is to work closely with families to help every child feel supported and successful as they begin their school journey.
To help your child have a smooth start, we’ll need the following completed:
ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire): This will be mailed to you after you register. Please complete and return it. You can turn in at open house or in the office at anytime.
Original Birth Certificate: Turn in to the elementary office. We will record information from the birth certificate per DPI requirements and return the original to you.
4K Medical Forms: Fill out and return to the office. If your child’s birthday is shortly after school starts, you can complete these forms at that time—no need to reschedule your annual check-up. Forms needed are listed below:
Dental Exam Form
Eye Exam Form
Medical Exam Form
Immunization Records
School Supply will be updated yearly in spring: 25/26 Supply list
Completing these steps ensures your child is ready to begin their exciting 4K adventure at Cadott!
