ON STAGE DRESS REHEARSAL
Friday, June 13
At CDC, we have two unique "Dress Rehearsal" experiences: "In Class Tech Rehearsals" and "On Stage Dress Rehearsals". Both are mandatory and play an important role in helping dancers feel prepared and comfortable on stage.
For the "On Stage Dress Rehearsal" you will come to the Cascade Theatre on Friday, June 13 at your show's designated time block.
The On Stage Dress Rehearsal allows students to become familiar with the theater and feel comfortable with their performance, costume(s), and being on stage. Lighting, music cues, entrances, exits, formations, and all other logistics are rehearsed so the students have the best experience possible on stage. Each class routine is given a specific time to rehearse on stage during a specified 'time block'. At the end of the time block, we then run the ENTIRE SHOW in show order without stopping. Dancers must arrive a minimum of 20 minutes to the start of the show's time block and remain until the end of it, so they are fully prepared for the show.
Our On Stage Dress Rehearsal is relaxed, yet organized and timely. Students arrive performance ready: in costume and tights, with hair and makeup done. Once your the show's time block is over (after we run the show in Show Order), we will dismiss the dancers, and you may leave. However, it is always fun to stay for a while with your child and watch quietly from the back of the theater so they can see other groups rehearse.
Videotaping and photography are allowed at both In Class and Dress Rehearsal experiences, but not at the Spring Recital. We appreciate your cooperation with this. A professional videographer records the shows and a few weeks after the recital, you will receive a link to watch and download them. This is a part of the FUNdle Performance Package you have purchased already. So sit back and enjoy the show to the fullest!
