The Colorado Association Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (CATFACS) is a part of the Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. Our focus is on providing professional development opportunities and increasing public awareness of FACS education for future, current, and retired Family and Consumer Sciences educators.
Each year CATFACS hosts an annual conference, typically in January, as well as a summer conference in partnership with the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education (CACTE). CATFACS is an active division and accounts for 100+ of the 800+ CACTE state members.

Our organization is comprised of dedicated, passionate, and thriving teachers who make a difference in the lives of students. One of the board's many initiatives is to increase member morale and give appreciation to those who demonstrate excellence in our field. Each month CATFACS selects one member who exemplifies what it means to be a leader in the FCS classroom. These awards are nominated by fellow FCS teachers.
