STEP 1
OPEN THE SECURE BROWSER
Make sure you are logged out of your device (Chromebook).
On the bottom left of the screen, click on the “Apps” button (waffle).
Click on the “Secured Browser” button that pops up. This will bring up the CAASPP test page.

STEP 2
LOG IN TO A TEST SESSION
1. The student will enter:
First name only
SSID number:I will provide this to you prior to the test, or you can find this in the Parent Portal.
Session ID: I will give this to you prior to the test.
Click "Submit."
2. VERIFY Student Information
If it is not correct, please notify me right away.
If it is correct, select "Yes."
3. SELECT which of the 4 assessments to start.
Once the student completes a test, the student will need to
logout
log back in
select another test (eventually completing all 4)
and wait for approval to begin the next test.
When I see the student's name on my test system, I will approve the test and your student will begin.
STEP 3
SET UP THE STUDENT TOOLS
This will set up sound and request permission to access the camera (see State Guidelines).
Please click the “I agree to grant the borrower permission to access the camera” box, and press "Continue."
You will see the camera icon turn black, and if you hover over it, the circle will turn blue with a white camera icon.
If your camera is working, go ahead and click “I see myself,” and then “Continue.”
This will check that the student microphone is working.
Allows the student and teacher to talk about any testing issues.
Follow the directions as they appear on the screen.
3. Sound and Video Playback
This will check that the video feature can play.
Follow the directions on the screen.
This enables a broadcast feature so that the teacher can give any important messages to the student.
The student will select the [Speaker] icon button and have the opportunity to change the voice, adjust the volume, pitch, or rate.
The student will then indicate whether the student heard the voice, did not hear the voice, or want to skip the check, and then select Continue.
It is important that the student hear the voice. If there are any issues, let your teacher know immediately.
STATE GUIDELINES
1. Test Set Up
You may assist your child with setting up the technology required to enter the test session.
2. To maintain fairness, DO NOT talk about questions on the test or any test materials before, during, or after the test.
3. NO ONE can record or use a camera or device to take pictures of the test questions or your child taking the test. This maintains test confidentiality.
4. Your student must complete the test without any help. To verify compliance, a web camera and microphone will be used for me to observe your child during the test. The camera is only used to observe your child and will NOT be recorded.
5. Please follow all of the instructions I give in order to place the camera where your child and his/her immediate surroundings can be observed.
