One of the most frequent conversations I have with students is about sleep. How much do they get? How long does it take them to fall asleep? What are they doing before they sleep?
While the teenage brain prefers to go to sleep later than the adult brain, the reality is that society doesn't work on a teenager's schedule. We must all learn to improve our sleep habits.
Phones are probably the biggest obstacle to getting more and better sleep. Research has clearly established a link between phone use and lack of sleep. The blue light emitted by phones actually tells kids' brains to stay awake!
Here are some links about healthy sleep habits for teenagers.
