Appeals of
Non-Selection

Students wishing to appeal their non-selection must complete an Appeals Self Reflection Form and submit to the chapter advisor within 3 school days of notification of nonselection. 

Forms are available from the chapter advisor.

The student will indicate on their reflection form if they would like to request the faculty council to reconsider their selection. This does not include a personal appearance by the student. 

Should students still not be satisfied with the decision of the Faculty Council, they may discuss their concerns with the principal. The principal will review the concern to ensure that NJHS selection procedures were followed appropriately, rather than reconsidering the Faculty Council’s judgment, and will make a final determination. 

Students wishing to challenge or appeal the Principal’s decision should follow the school system’s complaint procedures.
