Students testimonials
I would definitely recommend Irish for GCSE. Even if you’re someone who isn’t sure if you’d enjoy it, like I was, I can assure you will. The workload is very manageable and you get the chance to do speaking and listening rather than just reading and writing all the time like most subjects. You learn a lot of things in KS3 which really help in KS4 so you won’t feel overwhelmed considering it’s a whole different language as you have a great knowledge already. Laura
I chose Irish for GCSE, as it opens up lots of opportunities for example when the time comes it will give me the chance to go to university in the Rep of Ireland if I want to as you need a language to get accepted into university’s there. I didn’t think I would like Irish, quite frankly I was dreading it on the 1st of September but it has actually turned out being one of my favourite subjects. You get a good laugh in class when you have people like me who sometimes can’t pronounce most words, in class you take part in things like role plays with your friends which is quite enjoyable. Irish is all round a fun and enjoyable subject. Ciara
