Chromebooks are becoming increasingly popular in schools for a number of reasons. They are affordable, easy to use, and have a long battery life. Chromebooks also come with a variety of educational apps and tools that can be used in the classroom.
Managed Chromebooks can be purchased from Capita. It is important to purchase managed Chromebooks for use in schools as these will fulfil all the security and Google licensing requirements that are necessary.
Getting Started
Chromebooks purchased from Capita will automatically connect to C2K wireless when in school. They can also be connected to your home WiFi
Logging in - At the Sign in screen. Enter your C2k username. The box will be presented with @c2ken.net filled in for you. Click Next. You will be taken to a second login box. Enter your username as before but this time add @c2ken.net (eg. jsmith123@c2ken.net). Enter your usual C2k password. Click Sign In.
Navigating Around a Chromebook
On a Chromebook, there are no separate mouse buttons – Use your finger on the track pad to move the cursor on the screen. Simply press the trackpad down to select. To “right-click”, tap the trackpad with two fingers.
Alternatively, of course, use the touchscreen to move around and interact with content.
