We are excited to announce the installation of the ‘Beaver’s House’ on our grounds, with the generous support of 'Helping Hinch+'.
This initiative aligns with our school’s ethos statement, which emphasizes the importance of wellbeing and kindness in shaping our pupils’ growth.
Our ethos states, “By investing in their wellbeing, we will enable our children to become confident in their abilities, resilient when they face setbacks, and responsible, respectful contributors to the society they will inhabit—individuals who know and show kindness in all that they do.”
The concept of kindness is a central theme in the creation of the Beaver’s House. The Beavers in The Chronicles of Narnia were the first characters to welcome the children with warmth and genuine kindness. Their actions set a powerful example of how kindness can create a welcoming and supportive environment, a message we wish to instill in our own community.
The Beaver’s House will stand as a permanent fixture on our school grounds, symbolising the kindness that has been extended to us by the community in supporting this project.
It will serve as a constant reminder to our children of the importance of kindness in their daily interactions with one another. We hope that it will inspire them to continue to be kind, compassionate, and respectful individuals as they grow.
We are grateful for the support of Helping Hinch+ and look forward to seeing how the Beaver’s House will enrich the outdoor play experience of our pupils for years to come.
We’re also really excited to be sharing this journey with local artisan joiner, Mr Richard Kelly. Richard is the craftsman who designed and installed the Narnia Trail at Kilbroney park, Rostrevor, which is well worth a visit!
