Homework & Class Policy

My job as your teacher is to ensure you are successful at everything you do this year and that you are prepared for what awaits you in the next grade. One way I can better help you be successful is through the use of homework. While I know homework is not a favorite by most students, it is an essential tool for your child to get the practice necessary to grasp new concepts. Homework also allows me the opportunity to see where your child is struggling in various content areas and how I can help them improve. Math homework will be recorded daily.

**Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday. Homework given on Friday is OPTIONAL.

Math: Guided Practice Sheet side B and Fact Practice Sheet side B (Side A will be done in class daily)

Reading: Read nightly for 10-15 minutes, book of your child's choice.

Turning Homework In:

  • It is the student's responsibility to turn their homework each day.

  • We practice this daily at the beginning of the year so students can learn the routine and a reminder is given in the homeroom daily to turn in their homework and to choose their lunch.

  • **Please note: If a student is missing 5 or more homework assignments in a quarter (we check in homework daily), they will be marked down on the work habits portion of their report card.

  • Make up work policy: If work is not completed in the classroom it will be sent home to complete and must be returned within 48 hours.

  • If a student is absent, their missed work will be sent home to be completed, students will get 2 days for every 1 day they are absent to make up their work.

Attendance:

  • Attendance is taken at 8:00 sharp. If your child arrives after 8:00, they will be marked tardy.

  • Please let the teacher and the front desk know via e-mail, if your child will be absent or leaving early for an appointment.

  • If your child is absent, please check in with the teacher for make-up work. All make up work will be due within 48 hours. Students will get 2 days to make up work, for each day missed.

Lunch:

If your child is ordering school lunch please have them practice and memorize their lunch number.

Dress Code

C2E has a dress code policy that must be followed by all students. Whether we are online or in person, students should be ready, dressed appropriately, and ready to log on at 8am sharp. The students will be checked by staff as they enter the building in the morning. If they are not dressed correctly, they will be sent to the office to call their parents for a change of clothes. Any sweaters and other forms of spirit wear may be worn in the building only if they have the C2E logo on it.
