Week of April 27th:
Spelling/Writing:
Students have a spelling packet to fill out this week for homework to practice their Spelling words for Unit 6 Week 1 Spelling quiz, which will be on Friday, along with a vocabulary quiz for those same words. They must turn in their spelling packet on Friday.
Students will learn specific styles of poetry and experience writing their own poems.
Science Labs
This week, we will continue the unit on science and the Earth called Science for a Better Planet.
Week of May 4th:
Students will continue CMAS with Science Units 1, 2, and 3. Make-up testing will take place on Thursday and Friday for any absent students.
Math:
Students will finish reviewing coordinate planes and patterns, review on Monday, and take a test on Tuesday.
They will spend the rest of the week working on reviewing shape hierarchy.
Students working with Renken will be working on solving for variables in equations by using inverse operations.
Reading:
We will continue Read Aloud, rotations, and studying the character development in Battle of the Labyrinth.
Spelling/Writing:
Students will work on a research project for National Parks.
Spelling and vocabulary tests for Unit 6 Week 2, and a quiz on Battle of the Labyrinth.
Science Labs
This week, we begin our unit on science and the Earth called Science for a Better Planet. For part of this week, students will also use labs time to prepare for their Ameritowne Jobs.
Week of May 11th:
Math:
On Monday, we will finish our review of shape hierarchy. On Tuesday, we will review for our end-of-year test on Wednesday.
Then, we will start working on their two Math projects: Design-A-Summer-Job and Design-Your-Dream-House.
Reading:
We will continue Read Aloud, rotations, and studying the character development in Battle of the Labyrinth.
Spelling/Writing:
Students will work on their research project for National Parks.
Spelling and vocabulary tests for Unit 6 Week 3.
Science Labs
This week, we continue our unit on science and the Earth called Science for a Better Planet by discussing the challenge of oil spills and how gas impacts our planet.
Week of May 18th:
Students will continue CMAS with Science Units 1, 2, and 3. Make-up testing will take place on Thursday and Friday for any absent students.
Math:
Students will continue working on their two Math projects: Design-A-Summer-Job and Design-Your-Dream-House.
Reading:
We will continue Read Aloud, rotations, and studying the character development in Battle of the Labyrinth. They will have their final quiz on Battle of the Labyrinth.
Spelling/Writing:
Students will present their National Park research projects.
Spelling test for Unit 6 Week 4. No vocabulary quiz this week.
Science Labs
This week, we continue our unit on science and the Earth called Science for a Better Planet by discussing both how gas impacts our planet, and if we have all these problems on Earth, should we spend money going to space?
Week of May 26th:
No school on Monday for Memorial Day. Last week of School!! Our Ameritowne Field Trip is on Friday, May 29th, the last day of school. Field Day will also be this week.
Math:
Students will present their projects on Design-A-Summer-Job and Design-Your-Dream-House.
Reading:
We will continue our Read Aloud to finish as much of the Percy Jackson series as we can.
Spelling/Writing:
No spelling test this week
