Student Supports

During the distance learning delivery of education period Cambridge-Isanti Schools will continue it's mission of:

Cambridge-Isanti Schools will continue to address the unique needs of each individual student through various programs, mediums and effective practices. Each school has created a form to track student concerns. The information is review daily, and appropriate resources and interventions are put in place.

In order to continue to support the needs of individual students, the programs below presented about Effective Small Group Instruction and Lessons Learned During Distance Learning to staff on May 1. Teachers shared effective communication pathways, interventions, and methods for off-line access. Title I Programming

Title I Interventionists will be serving a significant role in supporting students and classroom teachers during the Distance Learning period.

Interventionists will be available during specific times throughout the day to support students and families face-to-face via Google Hangouts.
The Hangouts have been designed for easy accessibility. Families will have the option to click on a link provided in their child's daily learning direction.
In addition to being available for family support, Title Interventionists have designed small group instructional plans for students who need a more individualized approach in addition to their core content.
Interventionists also meet with students via phone if they do not have internet access.
Information has been sent directly to the families whose students have been identified as needing this additional instruction.

English Language Learners

English learners will have the chance to access grade level standards being prepared by the classroom teachers as well as the ESL teachers. They will work on the same scope and sequence as their grade level peers with ESL teachers increasing interaction to bolster academic content and grade level standards in the following manner:

English Language Learners are receiving direct instruction from the ESL teachers which will assist in the student’s ability to understand and produce complex academic language for assignments without typical scaffolds including one on one time and easy accessibility at the need of the student.
ESL Teachers are providing scaffolding methods that will help students better understand and use their academic language while accessing academic content through online books and interacting with their peers and teachers for better understanding. These resources include the use of screencastify, seesaw, and Google Hangouts.
ESL teachers are providing one on one time with students to ensure that they are receiving individualized support. We are providing a newcomers class to improve BICS and easy accessibility for students throughout the platforms (above) including Talking Points to teachers as they are needed (on demand schedule).
We are providing ELL students with any manipulatives, white boards, and other resources as needed.to help them.
All communication being sent out by the district is being translated into the multiple languages of our families in order for them to access the information in their native language followed by direct phone calls to our families with limited English Language.

ADSIS Programming
