Charting a Course for Our Community's Future
Welcome! The City of Kimball is working on a new Comprehensive Plan to guide the city's growth and development for the next ten to twenty years. You can use this site to contribute your ideas and comments, learn more about the project, and connect with us.
The City's planning team will have a booth at Kimball Days this coming Saturday August 9 - stop by to say hello, learn more about the plan, and offer your ideas and opinions!
We'll have a booth at St. Anne’s Parish yard on Saturday August 9 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
The June 30 Public Workshop was a great success! We had about thirty people attend - thank you to everyone who came and contributed to the conversation!
After a brief presentation about comprehensive planning we went through some activities to get people's ideas for Kimball's future. You can find results from the activities here:
All the comments received through the Post-Its notes exercise
Results from the map exercise
We received more than one hundred comments through the plan's interactive online map! The comments are location-specific and include places where there are assets or issues in the city as well as ideas on how to make improvements.
We also received lots of ideas for new walking and bicycling paths as well as snowmobile trails. More than 300 people interacted with the tool.

We received more than 140 responses to our online survey for the Comprehensive Plan! The survey was quick and simple, with just three questions:
What do you like the most about living or working in Kimball?
What do you not like about living or working in Kimball? What are some issues we should address?
What ideas do you have for making Kimball a better place to live, work in or visit?
We received an amazing and very useful set of answers! Please take a look at the report here to download all results!
We're excited to invite you to the Kimball Comprehensive Plan's first public workshop!
The workshop will take place at City Hall on Monday, June 30 from 6 pm to 8 pm (click here to RSVP).
The planning team will provide an overview of the planning process and will lead fun and interactive activities to receive your comments and guidance for the plan's direction and the priorities it should consider.
Our Wikimap and our first online survey are now closed, but new opportunities to participate are coming soon - including a public workshop on the evening of June 30 and a second community survey.
Please come back to this website or follow the City's Facebook to get the latest updates!
Use our interactive online map (Wikimap) to add your location-specific ideas and comments for Kimball's future - including places you like, places where there are problems or issues you'd like the plan to address, and places for which you have ideas for improvement. And also, to add walking and biking routes you would use if they existed or were improved.
Please fill out this brief, one page survey ( link > ) to help orient the plan and its work.
(a second and longer, comprehensive survey that will help add detail to the plan's recommendations will rollout in late spring 2025).
Do you have place-specific comments and ideas you'd like to share? Our Wikimap awaits your comments! (please scroll up, or use this link >)
Work on the city's new Comprehensive Plan has begun!
The City of Kimball issued a request for proposals for this project in December 2024. After receiving several bids and going through a competitive selection process the City hired a planning team to work closely with residents and City Staff to develop our plan.
