Welcome to Sixth Grade Language Arts! I started my career at Greenfield Elementary where I was a paraprofessional for 9 years. For 5 of those years, I was going to school to get my degree in education. After graduating, I worked at Greenfield as a long term sub for one year, then as a Title I math teacher for two years. When a position at Viking opened up in my favorite subject area, I jumped at the chance. What a great decision that has been! I have loved working with sixth graders and getting to know them as they make the transition from elementary school to middle school.
When I'm not at school, I'm usually enjoying time with my family. I have been married to my husband for almost 34 years. We have two children. Our son Cody is married to Maria. They have two daughters named Sofja and Nadja, and they live in Stockholm, Sweden while he goes to school. Our daughter Nicole is married to Noah. They have a daughter named Marietta and a son named Augustan, and they live in New Richmond, Wisconsin where Noah performs with his worship band and roasts coffee. My husband and I love being grandparents and wish Sofja and Nadja were closer to us. We have a lot of fun with Marietta and Auggie several times a week. Otherwise, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, binging Netflix, and throwing the ball for our dog Zoe (she's a little obsessed). :)
