At the ALC, eLearning is different for each student. Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Fritz are the best resources for eLearning questions. They will post materials through Google Classroom and may use email to communicate other requirements. All students at the ALC are expected to have all the eLearning tasks completed for the next school day.
Google Classroom is a Google app students use frequently. It is used to send students messages and digital assignments which are organized into each of the student's classes. Students access Google Classroom on their Chromebook. They can also log into their Google account from any device connected to the internet by going to Google.com, selecting the blue 'Sign In' button at the top right of the screen, and filling in their school username and password. Then the student selects Google Classroom from the list of apps or they could go to classroom.google.com. For this portion of eLearning the student should check Google classroom for each of their classes. Teachers will post directions and content students may need the morning of eLearning. It's a good idea to check back later in the afternoon in case anything was posted after the school day starts.
Students have access to grades, including a list of missing assignments a teacher may have posted, through Student Access. Parents have access to the same information through Family Access. Students log into their account often. They should check for any assignments that are "posted as missing" from the list of student missing assignments. If a student is unclear how to complete the assignment they should email Mrs. Bowman or Mrs. Fritz. If a student recalls completing and turning in a late assignment they are encouraged to send an email one of them telling them when and how the assignment was turned in.
Students have access to email on their Chromebook or by logging into gmail from any web based device (similar to accessing Google Classroom). Students should read any email sent by their teacher(s) and check back for more messages throughout the school day in case updates to the eLearning plan have been sent out. Students and parents are also encouraged to send email to teachers. They will be monitoring their messages throughout the entire day. A list of teacher's email addresses are available when viewing a student's schedule through Family/Student Access or on the Staff Directory page of the district website.
