Learning from home without technology. We understand some students do not have access to a device or internet for online learning. Contact the school on 4341 9066 to discuss non-digital learning from home options for your child.
All student work is available on Google Classroom. Whether you are working at home or at school, each student has their own account and can log in remotely to access by subject. See a step-by-step guide here, and a Parent's Guide here. Explore the department's learning from home resources to support both online and offline learning for all students.
Using Microsoft Teams with Google Classroom
BWSC Umina online face to face virtual conferences will begin in Week 4 Term 3. Students will be provided with an opportunity to engage with their classroom teachers using Microsoft Teams during approximately 50% of their lessons. Video conference links will be located in your Google Classroom and will be scheduled according to the student timetable, which students are already using.
The virtual conference structure will be:
- Up to 15 minutes face to face online conference for students
- around 30-40 minutes for students to complete work package activities
- the conference discussions will be based on the work distributed in the work packages
This is an opportunity for students and teachers to check in, ask questions, discuss the work to be completed in work packages, provide demonstrations and explanations.
We recognise that not every student can access the conferences at the times scheduled. Phone support and posting questions in Google Classroom will continue and all students are welcome to call the school to request a call back if additional support is needed.
Students are to check Google Classroom each morning to sign in and check for scheduled virtual conferences.
