Mrs Basilico
My name is Mrs Basilico, I have been working at Bullers Wood School for Boys since the start of it's journey in 2018. It has been a fantastic adventure! My job is SENDCo, which means that I try my best to help all students who find some aspects of schooling a bit difficult. My department is called the PLZ, which means the Positive Learning Zone.
What should tell you about myself? I am a mum and like many adults I juggle my family life and my working one. Everyone in school knows that I am very fond of my dog Bridget who keeps me in a good mood almost all the time. In my free time I like to go for a jog or to read a good book. I am Italian and clearly I think that Italian food is the best of the world!
I think students should always try their best and d never get discouraged if there is something that they can’t do, because everyone is good at something and not so good at something else and that is ok. My experience has taught me that students can learn better if they are happy and feel good about themselves, so I will try my best for that to happen.
I would say that the golden rule in school for me is: be kind and polite at all times with adults and students.
Ms Russo
Hello! My name is Ms Russo. I joined Bullers Boys in November 2020 as a Learning Support Assistant. We have a fantastic team of knowledgeable, proactive and dedicated staff and I feel privileged to be a part of the SEND Team. We all strive to make students life at school positive, pleasurable and productive.
Having recently completed my Higher-Level Teaching Assistant qualification (October 2023), I am primarily involved in helping students in KS4 with their Maths and English and running Music Intervention for students in KS3.
Before joining BWSfB, I was a full-time Music Teacher and I still teach piano after school. I studied Music and English at University and feel most at home in the English or Maths classrooms.
Outside of school, I love travelling, walking my dogs, going to the theatre and all genres of music. Playing the piano keeps me calm.
Ms Tucker
Hello, my name is Ms Tucker and I joined the SEND department at Bullers Wood School for Boys in 2020. I was previously a Visual Merchandiser for Next, travelling around the country. After having children, I was an exams invigilator at Bullers Wood School for 5 years, and it was whilst working there that I realised I wanted a role where I was more involved with the students.
I enjoy my role as an LSA, it is very rewarding and a pleasure each day to work with the students and see them grow in confidence and achieve great things every year. The Learning Support Department is often filled with the sounds of laughter and students enjoy this supportive department.
After school, three days a week, I help any students that attend Homework Club. Many students ask for support with their Maths homework and I enjoy solving the questions with them in a relaxed environment.
Outside of work I am a busy mum, with two teenage children and enjoy relaxing by being outdoors in the garden and walks in the countryside. I love travelling abroad to different countries each year, experiencing the different foods and culture; Greece is one of my favourite destinations. I also love recycling and enjoy a mooch around charity shops, bric a brac shops and sites on the internet like Vinted.

Mrs Anderson
My name is Mrs Anderson and I joined the SEND Department as a Learning Support Assistant in September 2021.
Previously I have worked at Knight Frank in London, a real estate consultancy firm, but after my having my daughter I decided to take a step back to spend more quality time with her. As she was growing up, I joined GAP and worked my way up to operations/ visual manager but sadly, as the company closed it retail stores, after 22 years I was made redundant. I have always wanted a rewarding job, helping others. My friends and family always told me I would be a great LSA so I decided now would be the perfect time to take the plunge.
In my spare time I enjoy snuggling down with a good book or watching detective dramas with my daughter and terrier dog called Fred. I’m really enjoy supporting the students through their secondary school journey.

My name is Mr Perry. After a really rewarding year as a Year 8 LSA starting in October 2022 I have now entered the world of mental health support by becoming an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant). The role is designed to provide on-site bespoke strategies to boys who may be exhibiting issues with their mental health and give them a safe space in which to explore their emotions and how best to manage them.
I've had a varied work career before coming here, from working in the BBC World Service newsroom helping to get radio transmissions on air to working with charities based in schools helping vulnerable children. In 2018 I took some time off work to look after my twin girls who have been the biggest and most rewarding challenge.
I love Formula One and would love to travel the world following all the races in a season.
