What is Study and Support?
The study and support scheme has been running in the Academy for many years now and is designed to provide support and guidance to students at the end of their GCSE courses to provide them the tools and knowledge to reach their full potential. Students take part in the scheme by completing a range of extra sessions at either lunchtime, after school or Saturday school with their subject teachers. The extra sessions provide students a perfect opportunity to master the knowledge they have been covering in lessons.
Specialised Support
All students that are part of the scheme are given a Study and Support tutor. The role of the tutor is to provide specialised support to students in relation to sessions to attend and other advice such as revision guidance and pastoral support. The tutor will meet their students weekly discussing key elements such as attendance, sessions attended and progress.
Rewards
Taking part in the scheme requires students to complete work above what they would normally do in lessons to aid in taking ownership of their own development and because of this rewards are provided throughout the academic year. More information linked to rewards for the Study and Support scheme are coming in the new academic year.
The most important reward is your results at the end of the year!
