Our Monarch PK–8 Library Mission
At the Monarch PK–8 Library, our mission is to ensure equitable access for every student, teacher, and family by providing a welcoming, innovative, and inclusive 21st-century library program— dedicated to supporting learning, literacy, and digital citizenship.
We believe that a strong school library serves students first, empowering them to grow as readers, creators, thinkers, and responsible users of information. At the same time, our library supports the work of teachers, enriches curriculum, and welcomes families and our broader community as partners in learning.
Our goal is to nurture a culture of lifelong learners, where all Mustangs have access to the tools, stories, and skills they need to explore their interests, excel academically, and confidently navigate an ever-changing world. Whether students are discovering a new favorite book, collaborating on a project, seeking tech support, or developing digital citizenship skills, the Monarch Library is a safe and supportive place designed for connection, curiosity, and growth.
Together, we are building a vibrant community of readers, creators, and digital citizens—one that reflects the heart of who we are at Monarch PK–8.

We are so excited to share that our kindergarten - 5th-grade classes will be visiting the library every other week (Pre-K visits once a month)! Library visits will include a combination of read-alouds, a short lesson or activity, and book check-out designed just for our young learners.
✨ Library Books: Students will have the opportunity to check out 2 books during their library time. Books will be due on the day of their next library session. Please help your child remember to bring their library book back so they can enjoy choosing a new one!
🌟 Early Literacy Matters: Reading with children offers a multitude of benefits, encompassing language development, cognitive growth, and fostering a love of reading.♥️ It builds foundational literacy skills, expands vocabulary, and improves comprehension, while also promoting bonding and emotional development. 📚
💡 Reading Together at Home: We encourage families to make reading a daily routine—whether it’s at bedtime, in the morning, or a cozy afternoon moment. Just 15 minutes of reading together can make a huge difference!
👤 Monarch PK8 Library Middle-Level Books Permission Form (link): As our middle-level student population increases, the MPK8 Library continues to expand its collection of middle-level fiction, including popular young adult titles. These materials reflect higher reading levels and may contain mature themes and language. Access to young adult titles is restricted to students in grades 6–8. Students in lower grades must have documented parental permission before checking out these materials. Thank you for your understanding!
We can’t wait to partner with you to help our Mustangs grow into curious, confident, and joyful readers.
We’re excited to welcome our middle school Mustangs to the Monarch Library! While 6th–8th grade classes won’t have regularly scheduled library visits, students will visit with their ELA and Social Studies teachers throughout the year and are always encouraged to stop by on their own during passing periods or with teacher permission.
✨ A Space for Readers:
Middle school is an important time to discover what kind of reader you are. Whether it’s fantasy, nonfiction, mystery, or graphic novels—our goal is to help every student find books that inspire curiosity and confidence. The library is a comfortable space to read, explore, collaborate, or recharge.
🌟 Why Reading Matters Now:
Reading at this age builds strong critical thinking and communication skills, expands knowledge, and sparks creativity. It’s not just about school success—it’s about exploring new perspectives and finding stories that connect to who you are and who you’re becoming.
💻 1:WEB Chromebook Support:
Our library also supports the 1:WEB program! Students can visit for quick Chromebook troubleshooting or assistance during passing periods or with a teacher’s permission.
At Monarch, our library is more than a place for books—it’s a community space where middle school students can learn, grow, and discover the joy of reading. 🖤💜
