Hour of Code

What is Hour of Code?

Hour of Code started in 2013 as a one-hour introduction to coding, in the hopes that it would help people see that anyone can learn the basics of code and encourage people to learn about computer science.

When is Hour of Code?

Hour of Code happens every year during Computer Science Education Week (December 5-11, 2022). It is held annually in recognition of the birthday of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, a computer programming pioneer and naval officer, who was born on December, 9, 1906.

Why computer Science?

Computer science teaches problem solving, logic, and creativity. These skills are a great foundation for our 21st century learners!
