Q: What are Kindergarten Kickoff Days?

A: The first three days of Kindergarten are full days with a portion of the class attending each day to provide a soft start into Kindergarten for your student. Your child will join us on either Wednesday or Thursday, and all students will begin again on Friday. Teachers will observe class dynamics for the first week and some changes may be made to support balanced classes.

 You will be notified about which day to bring your child in future communications. 

Session 1: Wednesday, August 14 (7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.)

Session 2:  Thursday, August 15 (7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.)

Session 3:   All students Friday, August 16 (7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.)

Regular school week Monday, August 19th (7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.)

Q: Do I need to enroll my child for Kindergarten?

Q: I do not have a computer.  Can I enroll my child in person?

A:  Yes, we have computers at Kohl that you are welcome to use!  Please come by the school and meet our Registrar Stacey Blicker (stacey.blicker@bvsd.org) or contact her at 720-561-8600.  She will be happy to assist you!

Q: I'm having a hard time enrolling my child online.  Is there someone who can help?

A: Yes, Stacey Blicker can help!  (Teachers don't have access to the enrollment systems, but the Office Team would be happy to help!) 

Q: When does school start for Kindergartners?

A: Kindergartners start the school year in a soft start/staggered setup following our Meet and Greet event. During these soft start days, Wednesday 14th, Thursday 15th and Friday 16th,  students will be placed in rotating groups to work with their teachers, play with centers in a smaller setting, and learn the ropes of the room without so many friends learning at once. Students will have the opportunity to work with the entire kindergarten team and meet many new faces! 

Q: When does Kindergarten begin?

A: Students will begin their normal Kindergarten schedule on Monday, August 19th, 2024.

You will be notified through Infinite Campus, date to be determined, of your child's class placement and teacher for the school year. 

Q: When do grades 1-5 start school?

A: First through fifth graders will begin school on August 14th, 2024.

Q: Are there breaks for holidays?

A: Yes!

Q: Does my child need school supplies?

A: No. Instead of having each family purchase supplies individually, we ask for a $70 donation at the beginning of the school year. With those funds, we purchase and supply students with what they need throughout the year. We find this is the best way to reduce waste as well as save families time and money. Sharing supplies in Kindergarten is also a great way to work on social skills! 

We do ask that your child bring a full-sized/large backpack and a water bottle with them each day.

Q: Is there before and after-school care at Kohl?
