LITERACY

READING AND WRITING:

The literacy program will be using this year is Into Reading. This program combines reading comprehension, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and writing practice into daily lessons. Our young writers will follow the writing process including planning, drafting, revising, proofreading, and publishing and will incorporate informative, narrative, and persuasive writing. 

MATH

We are excited to be using the Imagine Mathematics (Illustriative Math) curriculum for the second year in a row. Imagine Mathematics is a problem-based math curriculum designed to build number flexibility, foundational place value, and reasoning skills.

CORE KNOWLEDGE

Core Knowledge is our history and science curriculum. We will cover the units below in first grade:
