Hi! I'm Andrea. This will be my fifth year working as a school librarian and I am thrilled to be at Flatirons Elementary!
I have a BBA from the University of Iowa, a teaching certificate from the University of Denver, and a Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and I am in the process of completing a Master’s Degree in School Library from CU-Denver. Before becoming a school librarian, I wrote children’s books and taught English online. One of my favorite things about working in the school library is being able to work with every student from kindergarten to 5th grade. I am excited to get to know the students, families and staff at Flatirons Elementary!
I have two children, who attend school in Boulder, and a husband who teaches math at New Vista High School. Although Colorado is our home, we have moved our family abroad on two separate occasions. Once to Australia for a teacher exchange program and once to Taiwan to study Chinese. We now live in the foothills and love to hike, mountain bike, snowboard, read and travel. We just returned from spending the summer in Nicaragua where I volunteered for a bookmobile, delivering books to rural schools.
