With all of the planning for the busy upcoming two weeks, I failed to inform you of practice plans for the week. There are a few games we will need to avoid, so here are the plans for the week:
Monday, 5/4 - Meet at the track at 4:15pm
Tuesday, 5/5 - Meet at the track at 4:15pm (soccer game at 6:30pm - okay for full practice)
Wednesday, 5/6 - Meet at the track at 4:18pm (Girls LAX at 5pm - weather might be iffy too - if it's raining/snowing, we will meet in the gym)
Thursday, 5/7 - Meet at the track at 4:18pm for pre-meet practice
Friday, 5/8 - St. Vrain track meet/ JV athletes still attending practice will be OYO
The weather might change the above plans slightly. As of now, we are looking at up to 1.25" of rain on Tuesday (all day) and Wednesday is currently calling for up to 8-10" of snow. Yep, not a typo...that said SNOW! Meet day on Friday looks quite pleasant with 70 degrees and partly cloudy in Longmont. The coaches will have several back up plans to manuever this week and get you prepared for the upcoming Last Chance Meet. Please remember to check your emails before practice each day to see if there are any last minute changes.
Sko' Knights!
We have just 3 weeks remaining in our season! This past week represented the last official meet for our JV squad. We now have our League meet this week, St Vrain last chance meet the following week and then the State Championships! With a bit of a rainy week ahead, schedules might change at the last minute. Consider yourself warned and know that the Fairview coaching staff has absolutely NOTHING to do with the weather. We have tried weather spiritual dances and it doesn't seem to make a difference, so bare with us! =)
Here are the links to results from this past week:
JV Championships: https://milesplit.live/meets/719784/schedule
Longmont Invitational: https://www.femmertiming.com/2026/2026_Longmont_Invitational/index.html
Schedule for the upcoming week:
PLAN A:
Monday, 4/27 - Practice meets at the track at 4:15pm (distance to fitness center after practice). Altered practice due to a lacrosse home game!
Tuesday, 4/28 - Practice meets at the track at 4:15pm (sprint/field to fitness center after practice)
Wednesday, 4/29 - Practice meets at the track at 4:18pm (this is just pre-meet...unless our League meet schedule changes)
Thursday, 4/30 - League Meet Day 1. Currently looking at thunderstorms and cold temps. There is a chance this day is cancelled.
Friday, 5/1 - Practice meets at the track at 4:15pm. Quick practice due to a lacrosse home game!
Saturday, 5/2 - League Meet Day 2.
PLAN B:
Monday, 4/27 - remains the same - looks like rain won't happen until later. Altered practice due to a lacrosse home game!
Tuesday, 4/28 - remains the same - again, rain should be over by 4pm.
Wednesday, 4/29 - IF OUR MEET IS CANCELLED THE FOLLOWING DAY (HOPEFULLY WE'LL HAVE AT LEAST A 24 HR NOTICE), then we might do an actual workout in the AM. This will be the nicest day of the week, so we will try to capitalize on it and get it done.
Thursday, 4/30 - Rain is forecast to continue from around 2pm - 11pm, with temps in the low to mid 40's during our scheduled track meet time. If they decide to cancel this day, we will move to a one-day meet with only finals, no prelims for sprint events.
Friday, 5/1 - remains the same, rain the AM, looks to clear out in the afternoon. Quick practice due to a lacrosse home game!
Saturday, 5/2 - League Meet combined Day 1 & 2. If this occurs, this will be the meet day and will run like a normal track meet. There will be no prelims, just finals.
DISCLAIMER:
Weather changes in this state every day, so where as the above Plan A & B are what the coaches are preparing for, we might very well have to pivot quickly and meet inside if the weather doesn't allow us to meet outside due to heavy rains or lightning. I wanted to at least give you a heads up of the potential last minute changes that could occur this next week.

Thank you everyone for your kindness this past week towards one another. Thursday was difficult, yet beautiful. Honoring Evelyn and having her family and members of the community join us was nice. It should never have to happen for anyone in high school, but I do appreciate all of you being there for one another. I am super proud of all of you this season, not just for your athleticism and dedication; but the compassion you've shown and the strides we've made in creating a positive team culture. Thank you!

Great job to everyone! It was a busy week and all of you stepped up to the plate! PARENTS & Varsity Athletes - thank you so much for volunteering at the home meet. This was a huge help! We ran an efficient meet that gave a lot of JV athletes an opportunity to get a timed event on the books before their championship meet.
Other events this week:
On Thursday, April 23rd @ 4:30pm we will have a memorial walk for our former friend, teammate and classmate, Evelyn Kear. Evelyn passed after a tragic car accident this past year. She was loved by so many. At 4:30pm, there will be a few speakers that will share a memory they had with Evelyn, followed by a walk around the track. Participants are welcome to walk as long as they like. If you don't wish to participate, that is perfectly fine. We will reserve the outside lanes for the walkers. Please be respectful of those mourning the loss of their friend and give them space.
PARENTS - another reminder that our end of season banquet is approaching quickly. I had two parents reach out to help organize the banquet, but I would like a few more. Responsibilities are to secure a date, location, organize the RSVP, coaches gift, and food. I will take care of the presentation of awards and letters. If someone would like to take charge of the slide show, I would greatly appreciate the assist! Just reach out to me if interested in any of that!
We are almost to the end of the season! Week 11 of 12.
Congratulations to everyone who competed in our League Meet! We saw some outstanding performances that moved a few athletes into the rankings to compete at St. Vrain this next week. Results of the meet can be viewed here: https://live.rapidresultstiming.com/meets/71467
Looking ahead, the St. Vrain Meet requires athletes to have a qualifying mark posted in MileSplit in order to be considered for competition. There will not be a sign-up for this meet; coaches will enter athletes based on qualifying performances. The entries open today (Sunday) at noon and close tomorrow (Monday) at 8pm. I will enter everyone that qualifies to compete and then it is imperative that if you are one of those individuals, you talk with your coach to confirm you can be there. If you can't, we will have round two where we can scratch you and try to petition for someone that is close to the mark to get in. It's a process! **On a side note - all relays are a guarantee in! No qualifying times are required. **
Here is the meet info for those that will be going:
Location: Longmont High School (1040 Sunset St, Longmont, CO 80501)
Excused from classes: Those that are competing will be excused for the full day. The track meet begins at 9am, so if you are in an earlier event, you would need to get there at 8am.
Once the process of entering athletes, scratching athletes, petitioning for athletes and finalizing entries is complete and the heat sheets have been set, I will email with more info.
The invite for the End of Season banquet is here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050845A8A622AA8-63892458-fhstrack. Please RSVP as soon as possible. Similar to years past, the track team budget will provide the catered meal from Qdoba and we ask that everyone else contribute something to drink and/or a dessert. You can sign up for either of those items on the invite.
Finally, if you have pictures from the League Meet or any others this season, please submit them to the file: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1njbYTpnQuPViM4Omn4bqT4Kn_KuXwqto?usp=sharing. These pictures will be put into our end of season banquet slide show which is always a favorite for our team. We want to make sure that all athletes are represented, so please submit so your kiddo/friend/teammate is featured!
Thanks everyone & enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
Saturday, Apri 11, 2026 / From Coach Tricia
Hello Team,
What a packed week! Congratulations to everyone who competed—whether at the JV meet at Centaurus, where you pushed through multiple lightning delays, or at the Varsity BoCo Championship at Broomfield High. I saw so many outstanding performances, and it’s exciting to see the PRs keep coming every time you step into competition.
Recaps:
JV Meet at Centaurus
Results for our team can be found on the meet schedule.
Remember this was a hand-timed and coach capturing meet, so marks are not official and have a level of error to them. Even with that said, some amazing marks.
Varsity BoCo Championships Meet
Results for the meet can be found here: https://live.rapidresultstiming.com/meets/67069
Several amazing performances, recognition to our senior representatives of Laurel Brain and Oliver Su who carried the flag during our opening ceremony, and congrats to Oliver Su for winning a scholarship. Lily Graves won the overall meet Outstanding Performance award for winning the 200, breaking the meet record, her own school record (again) and currently ranked #1 in the state! Wowser!
Did you get some amazing pictures? Please submit here for the end of season slideshow. Also, if you could take the time to name the photos with the name of the athlete that is super helpful. This helps us make sure all athletes are represented in the slideshow at the end of season banquet. Thanks for your help with this! https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1njbYTpnQuPViM4Omn4bqT4Kn_KuXwqto
Survey says...
We've had some requests for Wednesday morning practices across all event groups. The weather is warm enough and it's nice to get it out of the way with no interference from soccer or lacrosse. Here is a short survey to place your vote for 7am practice or the usual after school timeslot. No names will be collected, just answer what you'd prefer and we'll go with the majority. If you don't vote, you will have no say on the outcome! Answer the survey here! (athletes only please!)
Next week practice schedule:
Monday, April 13th - 4:15pm at the track. Distance has strength training after.
Tuesday, April 14th - 4:15pm at the track. Sprinters/field have strength training after.
Wednesday, April 15th - OYO for Varsity level athletes (due to home track meet). Varsity will then help run the meet after school. JV will attend meet.
Thursday, April 16th - Centaurus Twilight meet for Varsity athletes. OYO practice for JV athletes.
Friday, April 17th - Practice cancelled due to weather.

Typical order of events, rolling schedule. I'll create a time schedule once we see our entries.
Start Time: 3:30pm for field events; 3:45pm for running events. ALL athletes will be excused at 1:00 to help with set up.
This will be a timed meet which will allow 6 entries for each running event and 5 entries for each field event. It is NOT an official CHSAA state qualifying meet however. This will allow you to get an official time, but it will not count towards a state qualifying mark.

Prom is the next day, so let's put in some good times before the late night out. It's VERY common that kids will feel sluggish the week after prom, so let's take advantage of this meet!
Upcoming Items to keep on your radar:
We are nearing the end of the season! I will need help with the end of season banquet, putting together a slideshow of season pictures, etc. If you are interested in helping with this, please reach out! We will start a committee of about 6-8 parents. I will give you some direction and then you run with it! This is a parent run event!
We will be holding a memorial event on April 23, 2026, at 4:15 PM for Evelyn Kear. For those newer to our team and school, Evelyn was a friend and teammate on our team. She would have been a senior this year, however a tragic car accident took her life. This event is meant to be a space for people to come together, reflect, and honor Evelyn’s life. You are not required to participate. Practice will continue. I ask that if you wish to continue with practice that you are respectful to those walking around the track in honor of Evelyn, giving them space. Thank you.

Recap of Saturday:
As mentioned above, there were some amazing performances at this meet!
There were 18 girls/events that scored in the top 8 places earning team points. The girls team finished 4th out of 24 teams with 80 points. They were hovering in the top 3 most of the day. At the end of the day it was the throws that took us down to 4th. Time to recruit ladies...find your inner thrower or recruit your friends to join the team! We scored points in all areas - sprints, distance, and field. So proud of this well-rounded team, that shows up and works with each other to make each other better! Kudos ladies!!
There were 8 boys/events that scored in the top 8 places earning team points. The boys team finished 12th out of 24 teams with 25 points. With a smaller showing on our boys squad, they still pulled off some amazing performances and great marks. As with the girls squad, points were earned in all areas - sprints, distance, and field. Once we can get all of you together at practices and meets, you'll be unstoppable.
Prepping for this season, the coaches and our winter training group really wanted to put focus on team culture. Those that have embraced this have seen what it can do for their personal performance and how it can change the team dynamics. Showing up is a big part of this! Not just physically in practices and competition, but also mentally. If you question your abilities, your performance will already have a strike against you. Read up on our team expectations. It's a good time to review these. Parents, feel free to review these with your kids. The coaches believe in you, now you have to believe in yourself!! Show up to practices & meets, mentally and physically, ready to go and we truly believe you will be a force to be reckoned with! (Team expectations linked below)
Upcoming Home JV Meet:
Date: Wednesday, April 15th
Location: Fairview Track
We will need a bunch of volunteers for this meet. Varsity athletes and parents are our main recruits! I hope to fill all available slots with our own team, so that the other teams can simply show up, coach and enjoy the day. To sign up for a volunteer role, please fill out this SignUpGenius form: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4CAFAE29A4F94-63345436-fairview. If you are a JV athlete competing in the meet, you are not expected to volunteer!

To be included in our email distributions, please fill out this form!
Last, but not least, the attached picture shows the newest additions to our Lost-n-Found pile. Item's can be retrieved from the track shed.
Hope all of you are having a wonderful Easter! See you tomorrow at practice!
Hi Team! What an amazing week of competition! Congratulations to all of you for getting out there and making it happen. This was the first week back from Spring Break and the first week where we start to really look and feel like a team. The first few weeks are finding out where we are at and what we need to focus on and then Spring Break happens where 90% of our team travels and spends much deserved time with their families. We are back and you all did amazing this week with our two meets: Broomfield JV meet on Wednesday and Grandview Invite at Stutler Bowl for the Varsity on Saturday.
Here are the results:
JV marks were hand-timed and relay exchanges were timed at the exchange of the baton (not mid zone). Those results are attached. Several of our younger and new to track athletes stepped it up at this meet, and many with a debut event. The next JV Meet will not be until April 9th at Centaurus. The Boulder meet has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts at the Boulder track. We might get a time trial in practice one day this week to get some fast training for our JV squad. With soccer games both Tues and Thurs, tentatively plan for a Wed time trial for our JV squad.
Varsity results can be found here: https://co.milesplit.com/meets/719892-grandview-invite-2026/results/1267452/raw. The girls team finished in 3rd place with 92 pts, only 4 pts behind the 2nd place team of Grandview. Boys finished 6th with 51 pts. Marks were impressive at this beautiful stadium and a few more school records were taken down. Lily broke her own 200m record from last week, recording a 24.61. She also broke the 400m record with a 54.64 time. Other stand-outs this week were Colt Goucher winning the 1600m with a photo finish time of 4:33.73 and Rory Treleaven winning the 800m with a time of 1:59.39. Ciel Williams and Amelia Clasby took 1st and 2nd in the High Jump, both jumping 4-11. Several PR's and season bests, BIG congratulations to everyone!!
Plans for this next week:
Monday, March 30th - meet at the track at 4:15pm. I have a bunch of ribbons to hand out from the Varsity meet on Saturday, so we'll begin with a team meeting!

Hello Team! Welcome back spring breakers!
We had a small, yet mighty crew competing at the recent Broomfield Shootout this past weekend with some great performances. To see the results, click here! We had some great PR's, but this week's shoutout goes out to Lily Graves for winning both the 100m and 200m dash and SMASHING the Fairview school record in the 200m with a time of 24.75. CONGRATS!
We also had three of our athletes competing at National Track Meets over the break. Way to represent Knights and congratulations to the following:
Colt Goucher - ran the freshman mile at NB Nationals in Boston placing 7th with a time of 4:26.18.
Martina Riley - ran in the Championship 2 mile at NB Nationals in Boston with a time of 11:20.62.
Lily Graves - ran at the Nike Indoor Nationals in NYC in both the 400m with a time of 56.37 and in her club relay team 4 x 400m winning the event with a time of 3:41.77.

I'm working on a day/time for the senior banner pictures. I'd like to get these done soon, so we can have them up for our home JV meet.
Our home JV meet will be on Wednesday, 4/15. This is a BIG meet for us in regard to needing volunteers to run field events, announcers, managing a concession stand, etc. When we get closer, I will send out more information and a sign up. Please put this one in your calendars! We will need all hands on deck!! Parents and our Varsity crew are in charge of making this the best possible experience for our JV athletes!

Hello everyone! How is it week 3 already? First off, I'm sorry we didn't get to have a track meet this past weekend. The coaches were very excited to see you compete! This week however, we have the fun QUAD meet with Fairview, Boulder, Monarch and Centaurus. There is a lot to do for this meet, as we are co-hosting it with Boulder High. So please read the email in its entirety, so you aren't missing out on anything.
Week Schedule
Monday, 3/9 - Meet at the track at 4:15pm. Entries for the Wed track meet are due by 8pm on Monday. That's tomorrow!! Click the link and register now if you plan to compete! REGISTER HERE!
Tuesday, 3/10 - Meet at the track at 4:15pm. We will go over all entries and logistics for the track meet, please be at this practice!!
Wednesday, 3/11 - Track meet at Centaurus HS, the QUAD meet, co-hosted between Boulder and Fairview. More info below.
Thursday, 3/12 - Meet at the track at 4:18pm.
Friday, 3/13 - Meet at the track at 4:15pm.
Wednesday Track Meet
Track Meet Location: Centaurus HS (10300 W South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO 80026)
If you are competing in this meet, you will be excused after 1st period, at 11am. If you do not compete until later, use your best judgement on when you should leave school. IF you are leaving school at 11am, I do expect you to be at the track for the first events and cheering your teammates on.
Once again, your registration deadline for this meet is Monday at 8pm and the form to fill out is linked here again! You will not be considered for this meet if you do not fill out the form in time.
Track Meet Schedule! Click on the link to view the rolling schedule. This means that we will move from one event to the next, so the time that you see in front of your event is a guesstimate.
Field events begin at 2:00pm.
Running events begin at 2:30pm
You need to arrive at LEAST one hour prior to your event! Please remember that school is still in session at Centaurus when the meet begins, so parking will be challenging. Carpool if possible! Plan enough time to find parking, trek back to the stadium, get settled in the team camp, and then warm-up with your teammates.
The team camp will be set up at the west end of the track.
Make sure you bring your race singlet (you can get it at Runners Roost if you have not yet picked it up), plain black shorts/tights, trainers for your warm-up, competition spikes for your event, water/electrolyte mix, enough snacks to get you through the day and layers of clothing to keep you warm. You might also consider sunscreen. It will be mid-50's (as of now) and sunny.
PARENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Since we are co-hosting this meet, we are in charge of two key areas:
Discus (boys and girls)
Concession stand - this would be supplying it, manning it and selling items.
I will also be clerking the event on behalf of our school, so coaching questions will go to the other coaches at the meet. I will get to see all of the runners as you line up for your events, but I will not be able to time your splits, or answer a lot of questions. The other coaches will be available for you!
Parents - I've created a form just for you. Please fill this out if you are able to donate something to the concession stand and/or help work either the discus and/or concession stand. Please fill out the form here!

Fantastic job kicking off Week 1 of our 2026 season! We covered a lot in our team meetings, and I’m excited to finally share updates now that I’ve received the official roster. It looks like a few athletes may still be missing, so if you haven’t registered yet, please take care of that as soon as possible. And if a teammate says they didn’t receive this email, please remind them to register before forwarding it along.
It was great to see so many of you at our Team Day at Runners Roost! 10% of our sales that day comes back to the team as a donation and this will be our only fundraiser this season. Thank you for showing up, getting geared up and picking up your singlets. We should be ready to go for our first meet coming up next week!

Track Meet Details:

You must be fully registered, paid, and have a current physical on file in order to compete at this meet.
You must fill out the interest form to notify your coaches that you are available to compete at this meet: https://forms.gle/G6oDwxUt9FTZCkQP6
Fairview is responsible for managing the boys shot put event. We will need 3-4 volunteers around 11am. I have included this request in the form linked above. If your parents are willing to volunteer, please put their name on the form and I will reach out separately once we have our volunteer list.
Meet location is at Centaurus High School (details and time schedule linked on form).
There will be a gate entry fee and you can pre-purchase tickets ahead of time here: https://gofan.co/event/6173853?schoolId=CO67973. Athletes, coaches, volunteers, kids 17 and under, and seniors 65 and older are all FREE. The fee is $6.
This meet is for all athletes, JV and Varsity. We will try to give everyone a chance to compete that is interested. We are allowed 6 individual entries for running events, 1 entry per relay event, and 4 entries per field event. These are hard limits and the coaches will make the final decisions on which athletes will be in each event. Your interest plays a BIG PART in where you will be placed however, so you must fill out the form! Your effort level and participation in practices also plays a big factor in which events you'll be entered into.
Once the track meet is seeded, I will email out the heat sheets. These are documents that tell you exactly what heat or flight you will be competing in. We'll explain more during practice what all of that means for those of you that are newer to track.
Finally, as discussed in practice on day one, the team came up with expectations that will be enforced to create a positive and supportive team culture. I'm sharing this with everyone, so families will know exactly what is expected of your kids. The coaching staff asks that the families play a part in the success of our athletes this season by providing support at home. Making sure our athletes are ready for practices and competitions with plenty of sleep, healthy meals/snacks and plenty of hydration is key outside of practices/meets, so that they can compete at their best efforts. Thank you for taking the time to read over these expectations and supporting the success of our team!
