I am originally from Illinois and completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Illinois State University. After graduation, I lived in Wyoming for two years, working with 3rd-5th grade students. A professional move landed me in Englewood for my first middle school position. My professional career has primarily been shared between Englewood Middle School (15 years) and Bell Middle School (4 years). I have had the opportunity to work with middle school students for the past 22 years and look forward to serving both the students at Summit Middle School and their parents. In the short time that I have been at Summit, I have quickly come to appreciate how genuinely invested students are in their learning and the kind, caring, welcoming community that our students and staff continuously create for one another! I have three children (ages 23, 21 and 12) with whom I treasure spending my time. Love and Logic has shaped my parenting and molded the way in which I connect with students. I work within a solution-focused, strength-based framework and help students understand the interconnectedness of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors that help drive success in school. When I am not at school, I cherish spending time with my three children and my husband. I appreciate the outdoors, treasure time in the mountains and enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, kick-boxing and playing with our two dogs.
