Meet the School Counselor: Tara Krams, Kindergarten-5th grade
I became a school counselor in 2002 after earning my Masters in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado at Denver, and my undergraduate degree from the University of Florida where I majored in Special Education. I have worked in the field of education since 1993, beginning with teaching special education. I have taught in Miami, FL, Questa, NM, Boulder, and Denver.
I have been a school counselor with BVSD for since AUgust 2007. I recognize that school and early childhood can be stressful, and this motivates me to help others; ensuring that students are prepared for the next steps of middle, high school, and beyond!
My passions include hiking, walking, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. I moved to Colorado in 1996 from Miami where I grew up. I love the mountains, but often miss the ocean, especially in winter! I have two children in college now, one far away, at the University of Delaware and one at CSU.
