Philharmonic

Philharmonic is our non-auditioned group open to all students at Broomfield High School. We meet during 1st Period all days except Wednesdays from 8:35-9:28. Please bring your instrument, music and a pencil each day. 

Symphony

Symphony is our auditioned group that plays higher level repertoire. This is only open to students in 10th-12th grade who have been in ORCH 1 for at least one semester and passed the audition. Transfer students must have their previous orchestra teacher send a recommendation along with the audition. Open spots vary every year depending on enrollment, section needs, etc. We meet during 2nd Period all days except Thursdays from 9:34-10:26. Please bring your instrument, music and a pencil each day. 

Pass-offs

Pass-offs (playing tests) are used to get our music concert-ready. You will have six weeks to prepare your excerpts and will submit a video via Flipgrid or email. If you need to do it at school or in-person with me, let me know a week in advance. All information will be in your Google Classroom under the "Assignment" folder. If you aren't happy with your grade, you are welcome to retake as many times as needed until the day of the concert. I want you to feel confident & proficient on your pieces and am here to support you if you need help.

Extra Credit

Need a slight grade boost? Attend a musical performance and get up to 5 points extra credit! Bring the performance program to Mrs. Sillman and answer a few questions to earn your credit. You can attend up to 2 per semester!
