Nisha Mariya George is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at BVM College, Cherpunkal. Specializing in Family and Child Development, she brings a dedicated and compassionate approach to academia, committed to delivering quality education, fostering impactful research, and supporting student development.
She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from BCM College, Kottayam, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Literature from St. Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor. Nisha has a strong background in social work education, community engagement, and academic leadership, with expertise in child welfare, family and community interventions, and inclusive education.
Her professional experience includes roles such as Student Counselor at Lennz Education, where she provides academic and emotional guidance to students aspiring to study abroad, and Head of the Department of Social Work at Mar Sleeva College, where she led academic planning, faculty mentoring, and student development initiatives. She has also served as a Team Coordinator for the National Health Mission, managing public health projects and crisis response efforts.
Nisha is skilled in leadership, strategic planning, conflict resolution, research, training, and project management. She has contributed research on child-friendly education and presented papers on child rights and occupational health hazards at respected national and international conferences. Among her accolades is the Kottayam District Best NSS Volunteer award.
